On a Project Becoming
A few weeks ago, the color project I’ve been slowly researching had a burst of energy and poems attach to it. I had, for some strange reason, felt an affinity for the Wynken, Blynken, and Nod poem and decided to rewrite it with a trio of feminine characters - Bodie (the physical/sensual aspect of the trinity), Knowy (the intellect), and Shrüd (earned wisdom/experience). As I wrote it, it began connecting itself to the color project. Specifically… a narrative began to form about a group of women coming to live together in an old decrepit mansion (Grey Gardens crossed with the Brontë sisters) who decide to turn it into a color museum.
Suddenly, in the course of two weeks, I had 10-15 poems working through some of the things surrounding this narrative, but I had no plot… no real push. I am wondering if this work is growing/going in a more hybrid direction and needs even more narrative. As I write this, I am thinking yes.
I am thinking yes.
