Rather than transcribing lived experience directly, I choose to make strange the almost-familiar. Why? Because we also need the ineffable.

Wednesday Wordshop

Wednesday Wordshop

Hello. Call me Kiki. You may be here because you heard I am running a writing workshop — I am! It’s in Baltimore (Otterbein neighborhood) and there are a few seats left. It runs Wednesdays 6-830 from May 24th through June 28th ($150). I welcome humans of all types - whether you consider yourself a writer (yet) or not. The class will be tailored to the interests of those who are there—so bring your memoirs, diary entries, poetry, detective novel, or blank pages… no worries… we will all find our ways to our work. The workshop will provide encouragement and accountability to help you kickstart your writing practice.

Info about me: I taught writing at Drexel University in Philly for 8 years before moving to Baltimore and have lived in central PA, NYC, Syracuse, Iowa City, Atlanta. I’ve run guest workshops at several universities but also in community settings. I call myself a poet, but I write fiction, personal essays, and cultural criticism too—and my second novel (science fiction) was just accepted for publication. In another life, I spent a good deal of my waking hours dancing.

If you have any questions or want to sign up—please email: kkaschock@hotmail.com

Hope to see you soon!
